Penny Rich, was appointed to the OWASA Board in 2001 and she has served as Vice Chair and Secretary.

Ms. Rich is a personal chef with fifteen years of experience in advertising, publishing and computer graphics. In addition, she writes monthly columns about food-related topics in the Southern Neighbor newspaper; is a contributing writer for Cary Magazine; and hosts Carolina Cookbook, a cooking spot on the cable television "News 14" channel. As an active participant in the Inter-Faith Council's work with the goal that no one in our community should go hungry, Penny cooks meals twice a month at the IFC's community Kitchen.

Ms. Rich received a master's degree in Communication Technology from New York University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Pratt Institute and studied Food Science at Florida International University. She has served on the Town of Chapel Hill's Technology Advisory Committee and as President of the Board of Directors of the Chapel of the Cross pre-school.

Her avocations include quilting, gardening and biking.
