WUNC-TV's two-part series on water featuring OWASA

On May 5 and 6, 2015, WUNC-TV broadcast segments about the importance of clean water including interviews with OWASA staff and footage of OWASA’s water and wastewater facilities.

Below are links to the programs, which are each eight minutes long:

Topics include:

  • An explanation in non-technical terms of how drinking water and wastewater are treated.
  • Water supplies, water conservation, the cost of water, and infrastructure needs
  • Some things which should not be flushed.
  • OWASA’s reclaimed water system, which provides highly treated wastewater for non-drinking purposes.
  • Recycling treated solids from wastewater, or “biosolids.”
