the OWASA offices, 400 Jones Ferry Road, Carrboro; or on-line through the OWASA Website (please click here to do so). There is no charge for making such payments
- Check, money order
or cash.
- by mail with
check or money order in the self-addressed envelope enclosed
with your bill.
- in person
with cash, check or money order in the Customer Service
Office (open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.
to 4:30 p.m.).
- at either
of the two drop boxes outside our Administration Building, 400 Jones Ferry Road, Carrboro (always
available); one is drive-up out front and the other is
walk-up on the fronot of the .building
- Electronic funds transfer from your bank account (PLEASE SEE THE IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION BELOW)
You can make payments by electronic funds transfer from your computer through the Internet
if your bank offers this payment as a service. There is no fee charged by OWASA for electronic
fund transfers. HOWEVER, PLEASE BE AWARE THAT ELECTRONIC FUND TRANSFERS FROM YOUR BANK TO OWASA MAY BE DELAYED AS MUCH AS 14 DAYS. PLEASE USE ANOTHER PAYMENT METHOD IF YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT WE RECEIVE YOUR PAYMENT ON TIME.
We encourage you to consider paying bills by automatic draft
from your bank account. Then, your bill would automatically
be charged to your bank account each month about 19 days after our bill
is mailed. You would still receive monthly bills indicating
the amount to be charged to your account and the date when
the automatic draft would occur. You can always suspend or end drafting at any time. If you are interested in automatic
drafting of your bank account please click here to sign up on-line or contact OWASA
Customer Service at 968-4421 (or by e-mail to webmaster@owasa.org).
Your bill is due
at the time you receive it and current charges become past due
21 days after the bill date.
Returned Check/Draft
Policy:
If your check or
automatic bank draft is returned due to insufficient funds,
OWASA will notify you by mail immediately, but an $18 returned
check fee or an $18 dishonored draft fee will be added to your
account. Please remember to give us sufficient notice when you
plan to close your bank account, so we can stop your automatic
bank drafting; otherwise, the dishonored draft fee will be added
to your OWASA account when we attempt to draw on your closed
account.
