Sewer repair on West Main Street near Fidelity Street scheduled for Friday, February 3rd

On Friday, February 3rd, if weather permits, a contractor hired by OWASA will repair a sewer in the outer westbound lane of West Main Street near its intersection with Fidelity Street. Please see the map below showing the approximate location of the repair.

The purpose of the repair is to maintain the structural integrity of the sewer so it will continue to provide reliable service. The repair is also needed so that the sewer will be in proper condition when the contractor does upcoming work to reseal the inside of the pipe later in February.

Timetable: The work will be done between 9 AM and 4 PM to avoid affecting drivers in the peak morning and evening traffic hours.

Traffic: While the outer westbound lane will be closed during the repair work and traffic will be shifted to avoid the work area, two-way traffic will be maintained with at least one westbound lane kept open at all times.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternative routes to avoid the repair area. We ask for your patience and understanding of the need for this repair to keep the community’s sewer system working properly.
