OWASA’s offices at 400 Jones Ferry Road, Carrboro, will close for the holiday on Wednesday, July 4th but OWASA personnel will be on call to respond to water and sewer emergencies.

Customers are welcome to call 919-968-4421 at any time to report water/sewer emergencies such as an unexpected interruption of service, leaks in OWASA water pipes, wastewater overflows and back-ups.  

Customers may get information about their account balances, payment dates, etc. at any time via the Manage My Account pages of OWASA’s website, or calling OWASA’s Customer Service line, 919-537-4343. (Customers will need to have their account numbers to get information by telephone.) Customers who have not registered to use Manage My Account can use their 6-digit customer numbers to do so by following the prompts on that webpage. Manage My Account features include the option to sign up for paperless billing,

Customers may make on-line payments through Manage My Account with a MasterCard or VISA credit card. Customers may also leave bill payments in the box at the driveway in front of the OWASA Administration Building or in the box next to the front doors. Customers are asked to include their account numbers on checks.

University Lake and the Cane Creek Reservoir will be open for recreation on Wednesday from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM.

 In accord with State law, fishing licenses are not required on July Fourth. University Lake and the Cane Creek Reservoir are alcohol-free facilities. Small private boats (without gasoline engines) may be used in the lakes if brought in or on a vehicle and after being checked by a lake warden. Private boats should be cleaned before they are brought to either lake. Fees apply to lake use, boat rentals, private boat use, etc.
