Lakes will be open on July Fourth 2016

OWASA’s offices at 400 Jones Ferry Road, Carrboro, will close on Monday for Independence Day but OWASA’s lakes will be open for recreation on Monday, July 4, 2016, from 6:30 AM to 6 PM.

The lakes will also be open under the normal schedule before July the Fourth:

University Lake:                6:30 AM to 6 PM, Friday through Sunday

Cane Creek Reservoir:       6:30 AM to 6 PM, Friday and Saturday

“We heartily encourage everyone who wants to enjoy the natural beauty, boating and fishing at our lakes to visit us,” said Johnny Riley, OWASA’s Senior Lakes Warden. He added that “Under North Carolina law, it is not necessary to have a fishing license on July Fourth so we encourage residents to take advantage of this annual opportunity.”
