OWASA Board of Directors Meeting Summary for December 9

OWASA’s Board of Directors met virtually on Thursday, December 9, 2021, and considered an agenda that included an update on the community’s Long-Range Water Supply Plan.

The Board of Directors is currently meeting virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Employee Insurance

The Board discussed the process and timeline for contracting OWASA’s employee Medical Insurance Plan. Current plan contracts expire on June 30, 2022.

Employee Attendance Award

The Board approved rescinding the Employee Attendance Award Program beginning January 1, 2022.

Employee Personal Leave

The Board approved policy modifications to Employee Personal Leave for employees who do not telework beginning January 1, 2022.

Long-Range Water Supply Plan

The Board discussed the ongoing update to the Long-Range Water Supply Plan, including evaluation of alternatives to provide access to OWASA’s allocation of water in Jordan Lake. The Board decided to further evaluate two of the Jordan Lake alternatives along with other viable supply alternatives at its January 13, 2022, meeting.
