OWASA Board of Directors Meeting Summary for January 13

OWASA’s Board of Directors met virtually on Thursday, January 13, 2022, and considered an agenda that included an update on the community’s Long-Range Water Supply Plan.

The Board of Directors is currently meeting virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Employee Insurance

The Board received information and discussed employee health and dental insurance for Fiscal Year 2023. Current plan contracts expire on June 30, 2022.

Diversity and Inclusion

The Board received an update on OWASA’s Diversity and Inclusion Program. Work done through this program since the previous update in September 2021 has included preparing for an upcoming Organizational Assessment.

Long-Range Water Supply Plan

The Board approved Jordan Lake being included as the preferred water supply augmentation alternative in the draft update to the Long-Range Water Supply Plan. OWASA will continue with its plan to expand the Quarry Reservoir and envisions our local water supplies meeting most of our needs for the foreseeable future. A draft plan is scheduled to go back to the Board for approval following additional community engagement efforts.

Water Conservation Plan

The Board provided feedback on the draft Water Conservation Plan Guiding Principles. A final version of the Guiding Principles will be brought back to the Board for approval at a future meeting.

Board Appointments

The Board discussed suggestions that could encourage public interest in applying to serve on the Board.

The Board will hold its next meeting on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at 6 p.m.; the agenda will be provided here.
