OWASA Board of Directors Meeting Summary for January 27

OWASA’s Board of Directors met virtually on Thursday, January 27, 2022, and considered an agenda that included an update on the community’s Long-Range Water Supply Plan.

The Board of Directors is currently meeting virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Long-Range Water Supply Plan

The Board discussed options to bring forward an alternative for augmenting the primary water supply through OWASA’s Jordan Lake allocation. The Board authorized staff to discuss with the Western Intake Partners, the parties’ interests, and values in securing access to OWASA’s Jordan Lake allocation with the proposed Western Intake Partnership facilities.

Water Conservation Plan

The Board approved Water Conservation Plan Guiding Principles and discussed the framework for evaluating OWASA’s overall water conservation program.

Recreation Season

The Board received the 2021 Annual Lakes Recreation Report and discussed options heading into the 2022 recreation season.

Financial Report

The Board received the financial report for the six-month period ended December 31, 2021. All financial performance targets were met during this time period.

Budget

The Board received the Fiscal Year 2023 Budget Calendar and Assumptions. The Board will discuss the budget proposals in future meetings before approving a budget in June 2022.
