OWASA Board of Directors Meeting Summary for November 11

OWASA’s Board of Directors met virtually on Thursday, November 11, 2021, and considered an agenda that included an update on OWASA’s Care to Share program.

The Board of Directors is currently meeting virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Care to Share

The Board discussed a temporary approach for distributing funds from Care to Share, the bill-assistance program administered by the Inter-Faith Council for Social Service. A temporary moratorium on service disconnections due to non-payment has been in place since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Water Conservation Plan

The Board discussed the draft Water Conservation Plan. Draft guiding principles will be brought back to the Board for consideration before finalizing the Water Conservation Plan. The Water Conservation Plan will serve as an appendix to the Long-Range Water Supply Plan.

Budget Development

The Board discussed the development of a new budget format and decided to postpone further work on it until after several high-priority projects are completed.
