OWASA Board of Directors Meeting Summary for October 28

OWASA’s Board of Directors met virtually on Thursday, October 28, 2021, and considered an agenda that included an update on OWASA’s Strategic Plan.

The Board of Directors is currently meeting virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bill Assistance

The Board discussed the American Rescue Plan Act and the Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program and how they may provide funds to help OWASA with infrastructure projects and to assist customers who are behind on their OWASA bill. OWASA’s moratorium on service disconnections that was put in place in March 2020 remains in place as plans are made for resuming standard collection practices, including service disconnections.

Strategic Trends and Utility Planning Issues

The Board reviewed and discussed the Annual Review and Update of Strategic Trends and Utility Planning Issues for Fiscal Year 2021. This annual report summarized observed trends in many aspects of OWASA’s operations.

Auditor

The Board approved the process for hiring an independent auditor for Fiscal Year 2022.

Financial Report

The Board received the Financial Report for the Three-Month Period Ended September 30, 2021. All financial targets were met for the reporting period.
