Bolinwood Drive Water Line Replacement
An OWASA contractor will begin work on a water line replacement project on Bolinwood Drive around the bridge crossing Bolin Creek on Friday, March 26, 2021.
The work is expected to take 30-45 days to complete, weather dependent, and could involve some Saturday work. Work will take place in the roadway and will cause lane closures throughout the project, including the possibility of a full road closure in the area immediately surrounding the bridge. There will also be times when pedestrian access to the Bolin Creek Trail will be restricted from Hillsborough Street. The sidewalks near the bridge will also be closed during construction hours.
Both lanes of Bolinwood Drive and access to foot traffic will be reopened each evening. If a full road closure is required, foot and vehicle traffic will be permitted once the work is completed for that day.
Work on weekdays will take place between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Some Saturday work may occur, which would take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
The water line in this area was damaged in previous flooding during Hurricane Florence in 2018. Replacing this water line is key to improving the reliability and resiliency of our drinking water distribution system.
Thank you for your patience during this critical infrastructure project.
